This policy is aligned with the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (revFADP, in force since September 2023) and the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
SoundTools Pro is an audio toolkit for sound engineers (LUFS loudness meter, SPL meter, spectrum analyzer, delay finder). The app is designed privacy-first and runs entirely on the user's device:
The Loudness (LUFS), Spectrum Analysis and Delay Measurement modules require access to the device's microphone. This access is used exclusively for local, real-time analysis:
Legal basis: Consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR / Art. 31(1) revFADP). Consent is given through the operating system's permission prompt and can be withdrawn at any time by revoking the permission in system settings.
The app stores only technical settings (the most recently selected audio input device and channel, calibration offset) in the device's local storage or browser localStorage. This data never leaves the device and can be cleared at any time by clearing the app's storage or site data.
Retention: Until you clear the app's storage or uninstall the app.
The web version of the app is hosted by Netlify, Inc. (44 Montgomery Street, Suite 300, San Francisco, CA 94104, USA). Netlify may keep technical server logs including IP address, user agent and timestamp for up to 30 days for security and operational purposes.
Legal basis: Legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR / Art. 31(1) revFADP) in ensuring secure and reliable operation of the service.
International transfer: As Netlify is US-based, your IP address is transferred to the United States. Netlify participates in the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and the Swiss-US Data Privacy Framework, which are recognised as providing an adequate level of data protection. Full details: netlify.com/privacy.
No cookies (beyond strictly necessary functional ones, if any), trackers, analytics tools (Google Analytics, Firebase Analytics, Meta Pixel etc.) or advertising services are used.
This app is a professional audio tool and does not target children. It does not knowingly collect personal data from any user, including children under 16 (GDPR Art. 8) or under 13 (US COPPA). If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, contact us at hello@soundtools.tech and we will delete it.
Under Swiss and EU data-protection law you have the right to:
Because the app itself does not collect or store personal data on its servers, most rights apply only to incidental server logs held by Netlify. To exercise any right, contact hello@soundtools.tech.
If you believe your data-protection rights have been infringed, you may lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority:
This policy may be updated when the app changes. The effective date at the top reflects the current version. Material changes will be announced in the app's release notes or via the Google Play / Apple App Store listing.
